Managed IT Pricing & Plans | North Star
HomePricing

Straightforward managed IT pricing. No hidden fees, no locked quotes.

We list our prices because we believe in them. Founding pricing applies to anyone signing before September 1, 2026.

We list our pricing because we stand behind it. Managed IT should cost what it costs, and you should be able to understand exactly what you are paying for before signing anything. Plans are priced per user, per month: add a user, the cost goes up by one user's rate. Reduce headcount, it comes down. No minimum-term penalties for right-sizing during the contract.

Three tiers

Pick the security posture, not a bundle of add-ons.

Managed IT in BC typically runs $100 to $250 per user per month. Your exact rate inside that range is scoped in a free assessment, and founding rates lock for the life of your original term if you sign before September 1, 2026.

What moves the number

Five factors decide where you land.

01

User count

The primary driver. More users means more devices, tickets, monitoring, and licensing. Volume pricing applies at higher user counts.

02

Tier

Each tier adds service depth, tool layers, and engineer time. Essentials to Professional is not a feature list, it is a different security posture and compliance outcome.

03

Backup and recovery scope

The volume of data under protection and the recovery time targets you need influence the backup component of your plan.

04

On-site requirements

Remote-first plans are priced lower. Regular on-site visits, especially outside Prince George, carry a travel component scoped and disclosed upfront.

05

Prepayment and volume

Annual prepayment carries a discount. Small business pricing applies under a defined headcount threshold. Founding pricing runs until September 1, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average cost of managed IT services in BC?

In British Columbia, managed IT services typically range from $100 to $250 per user per month. This cost depends on the level of cybersecurity required, the complexity of your cloud environment, and whether you need 24/7 helpdesk support. At North Star, we provide custom quotes to ensure you only pay for the specific resources and protection your business needs to operate safely.

Do you offer fixed fee IT support contracts?

Yes, we specialise in fixed fee managed IT services. This model provides your business with budget stability by eliminating surprise hourly billing for standard support. Our fixed fee approach encourages proactive maintenance and monitoring, as it aligns our goals with yours: keeping your systems running smoothly. This ensures that Prince George and Alberta businesses can scale without worrying about unpredictable IT expenses.

How does North Star calculate monthly service fees?

Our monthly fees are calculated based on a comprehensive assessment of your current infrastructure. We look at the total number of users, the count of workstations and servers, your data backup requirements, and necessary security protocols like EDR or dark web monitoring. By auditing your environment first, we can offer a fair and accurate price that covers all essential technology management and defence needs.

Are there onboarding fees for new managed IT clients?

Most new partnerships involve an initial onboarding fee. This one time investment covers the deep audit of your systems, documentation of your network, and the implementation of our security standard. We ensure your Microsoft 365 environment, backups, and networking equipment are fully optimised and secure from day one. This process creates a stable foundation for the ongoing support and management provided in your monthly plan.

What is included in a typical North Star managed plan?

A standard plan from North Star includes 24/7 proactive monitoring, unlimited helpdesk support during business hours, cybersecurity management, and cloud backup oversight. We also include strategic IT advisory to help you plan for future growth. Our goal is to serve as your complete IT department, handling everything from patch management and software updates to complex networking and VoIP phone system support for one predictable rate.
