Common questions.
What is the difference between signage design and fabrication?
Design produces the artwork and specification. Fabrication builds the physical sign. We do the first and coordinate the second with local fabricators, because the fabricator who is right for an illuminated fascia is not the one who is right for a yard sign.
Do we need a permit?
Usually, and the requirements differ by municipality, sign type and whether it is illuminated. Permit approval is normally the longest step in a signage project, so it is worth starting before the design is finalised rather than after.
How big should the sign be?
Determined by viewing distance and approach speed, not by available wall space. A sign read from a road at 60 km/h needs considerably larger lettering than one read from a parking area. Bylaws also cap total signage area, which frequently decides it for you.
Will it match our vehicles?
That is the intention, and it is why we prefer to do both from one system. Colour will be close rather than identical across vinyl, paint and printed faces, and we document the specified match for each so future work stays in line.
