Local Citation Building and NAP Cleanup | North Star
HomeMulti-LocationLocal Citations & NAP

Consistent business info,
everywhere it matters.

When your business name, address, and phone number are inconsistent across directories, Google's confidence in your listing drops and so does your local ranking. We audit, clean, and build citations for every location so the signals are consistent.

What's included

Everything you need, none of the upsell.

Real deliverables, with the boundaries written down. So you know what you're paying for and what counts as extra.

Citation Audit

Find every inconsistency.

All existing citations across Google, Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, Yellow Pages, and industry directories audited for NAP accuracy.

Correction

Fix the wrong ones.

Incorrect name, address, and phone number corrected across all existing listings. Duplicate listings identified and removed or merged.

New Submissions

Build citations you're missing.

Submission to key Canadian and general directories where your locations don't yet appear. Especially important for new locations.

Ongoing Monitoring

Catch drift before it hurts.

Monthly check for new inconsistencies. Third-party data aggregators sometimes overwrite correct information: we catch and fix it.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is a citation and does it still matter?

A mention of your business name, address and phone on another site, whether or not it links. They matter less than they did a decade ago but consistency still matters, because contradictory data across sources weakens confidence in all of it.

How many citations do we need?

Accuracy beats volume. The major aggregators and the directories genuinely used in your industry and region are worth having. Bulk submission to hundreds of low-quality directories does nothing useful and creates records you then have to correct.

What is the most common problem?

Old addresses and disconnected phone numbers persisting on sites nobody remembers submitting to, often propagated automatically from a single stale source. Finding the source of the bad data matters more than correcting each copy.

Should the address format be identical everywhere?

As close as the platforms allow. Suite number placement and abbreviations vary by form, and small formatting differences are tolerated. What is not tolerated is a different street, a different suite, or a different number.
